Workplace Diversity Equity and Inclusion Conference

Workplace Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Conference

Workplace Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Conference

Dignity will be attending the Workplace Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Conference in Auckland, 18-20 October 2022.

We’ll be there along with over 20 speakers and 50 attending organisations, including Kiwibank, the New Zealand Parliament, Pacific Cooperation Foundation, ACC, and Google.

The panellists will cover current and crucial topics, such as:

  • religious and ethnic diversity

  • supporting a neurodiverse workforce and people with disabilities

  • increasing Māori and Pasifika participation

  • creating safe spaces for LGBTQI+ employees.

To create a more inclusive Aotearoa, it is important to co-design for equity and work with employees who are experiencing barriers to create solutions that result in equity for all.

Some of the themes that will be discussed at the conference include:

  • Allyship: tuning into the needs of marginalised colleagues and attempting to debias

existing world views.

  • Intersectionality: creating and leveraging intersectional leaders and unpacking their

unique experiences.

  • Leadership development training: pivoting from diversity training to leadership

development training.

The conference will be followed by a workshop on 20 October, which will will focus on the following Key Learning Objectives:

  • Learn how to identify where power imbalances and inequity are likely to be undermining

your diversity efforts.

  • Understand the key components in taking an equity approach to your DE&I practices.

  • Workshop a co-design process and experience co-design in action.

  • Be resourced with tools and tips to bring co-design to your own organisation.
